For Current Enrollees
Charter Oak medical costs continue to be partially subsidized by the state for most current enrollees in the form of reduced monthly premiums. A current enrollee is defined as a Charter Oak member whose enrollment was effective prior to June 1, 2010. However, premiums are increasing on June 1, 2010, for enrollees in the subsidized income levels. The new premiums are based on increased medical costs in the program.
The state has worked hard to keep Charter Oak program costs as low as possible. If you have had a change in your income situation since you initially applied, please contact Charter Oak at 1-877-77-CTOAK (1-877-772-8625) to report the change. This will allow us to re-evaluate your situation and see if you qualify for a different premium amount, or even another health coverage program.
Your income is also important because it determines the level of your annual deductible and annual maximum co-insurance. See chart below for specific amounts.
